Bet of the day – Cheltenham to beat Barrow – 7/5

Plenty of sporting attention will fall upon Cheltenham next week for the annual racing festival, but the town’s football team are showing signs of progress and they can claim three League Two points against struggling Barrow.

The Robins have crawled nine points away from relegation trouble and, after four straight defeats in January, look to have got their act together as they are unbeaten in four with a run that includes a draw at leaders Bromley and a 3-2 win over play-off-chasing Salford.

Barrow, meanwhile, are in deep trouble after nine defeats in their last ten league games and it is difficult to see a team with one success in their last ten on the road coming out on top at Whaddon Road.

There are four big games across Europe that lend themselves towards being grouped in a both-teams-to-score acca.

The FA Cup tie between Wolves and Liverpool is a repeat of Tuesday’s Premier League meeting at Molineux, which the hosts won 2-1 to lift some gloom on a miserable campaign.

The Reds will not want to take that defeat lightly and should hit back, so expect goals at both ends in the Black Country and it could be a similar story in the Serie A clash between Napoli and Torino.

Antonio Conte’s hosts got back to winning ways against struggling Hellas Verona last week but that was the ninth successive game in which they have failed to keep a clean sheet, while Torino have failed to register in just one of their last six.

Paris Saint-Germain enjoy a four-point lead in Ligue 1 but they face a Monaco team who have dropped just two points in their last five games, so they can contribute to the scoring.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have to pick themselves up from surprise defeats to Osasuna and Getafe and a trip to Celta Vigo will not be easy.

The home side have won their last four matches and will take confidence from a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu in December.
