Instead, he tunes in to talkSPORT whilst driving his car or working out in the gym.

Scholes has even admitted he would not even choose a song to listen to before he dies.

The former England international made the revelation on the latest episode of The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

He explained: “I don’t like music. I’m not a**** about it. I’m not a**** one bit about music.”

When asked by Paddy McGuinness what he listens to when he is in his car, Scholes replied: “talkSPORT.”

The 51-year-old had the same response for what he listens to in the gym.

He added: “I’d much rather do that than (listen to music). I never put music on ever in my life.”

As for what song he would select to listen to before he dies, he said: “I wouldn’t choose one.”

With McGuinness and Scholes’ former team-mate Nicky Butt in shock, he quipped: “Well what difference is that going to f***ing make to me?”

After hearing his comments, McCoist said: “I thought it was impossible for Scholesy to get any higher in my estimations.

“Not only is he one of the best midfielders, now he’s up there (as the best).

“He’s just overtaken Stevie G (Gerrard), Frank Lampard, Ronaldinho, (Zinedine) Zidane.

“He’s just gone flying to the top of the charts, Scholesy. Different class. Amazing.”

Scholes spent his entire professional career with United after coming through the club’s academy.

During 21 years in the first-team at Old Trafford, he made 717 appearances and scored 155 goals for the Red Devils.
