Wednesday’s football betting tips

Bet of the day

Sheffield United to beat Portsmouth @ 8/11

Sheffield United won the Steel City derby 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday and will look to move out of the bottom three when they face Portsmouth.

The Blades are only one point away from safety and they look to have a favourable fixture this week.

Pompey are only four points better off than their hosts and they have the worst away record in the Championship, having only won one of their seven games in the second tier away from Fratton Park.

Chris Wilder has a few big names back available, so expect the Blades to keep riding the wave after their derby success.

Bet Builder

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
– Draw, BTTS and Harry Kane to score anytime @ 13/2

The two leading teams in this season’s Champions League meet at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Bayern Munich. The Gunners and Bayern are tied on 12 points and +11 goal difference, but it is the Bavarians that are top of the League Phase after scoring more goals than the Gunners.

Bayern have won 17 and drawn one of their 18 games this season and they are unbeaten in five matches against Mikel Arteta’s troops.

Arsenal are unbeaten in 15 games, but they have not played a team of Bayern’s quality during that time. Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings between the pair and without Gabriel, the hosts could struggle to keep the German champions quiet.

England captain Harry Kane will look to give the Gunners further nightmares, with the former Tottenham striker in fine form. He has already scored 24 goals for Bayern this season, while he has netted 15 times in 21 appearances against Wednesday’s hosts.

Acca

  • QPR to beat Blackburn
  • Bristol City to beat Wrexham
  • Birmingham to beat West Brom
  • Pays @ 21/1

Blackburn have had issues picking up results at Ewood Park all season. Rovers have won four of their last five, but at home, they have tasted defeat on five occasions in only seven fixtures.

QPR have only lost one of their last six away from home and they have what it takes to win on the road in Lancashire.

There could also be a shock in Wales as Wrexham host Bristol City. Phil Parkinson’s men are unbeaten in six games in the Championship, but they have struggled to hit the back of the net. They have only scored more than one goal in one of their last 10 games in the second tier.

The Robins have only tasted defeat once away from Ashton Gate all season and they should be able to punish their goal-shy hosts.

The all-Midlands tie between West Brom and Birmingham looks like it should go to the visitors.

West Brom have won one of their last six matches, while Birmingham have won three of their previous four, scoring four goals in three of those fixtures.

Birmingham’s away form has been their Achilles heel, but with West Brom low on confidence, this looks the perfect moment to record their third away win of the campaign.
