Bet of the day
Bet of the Day – Gabriel 1+ Shots on Target in PSG v Arsenal @ 15/8
PSG produced a breathtaking performance in the first leg of the semi-final showdown with Bayern Munich and their 6-5 aggregate success over the Bavarians is undoubtedly strong form.
However, the Parisians haven’t always produced the quality of the first-leg last-four showdown this season and Arsenal will pose a different challenge in the final.
Bayern went toe-to-toe with PSG in Paris, which played into the hands of the pacy and talented Parisian attack.
However, Luis Enrique’s men recorded only 34 per cent possession and created an expected goals figure of 1.06 when Bayern controlled the second-leg.
Arsenal will not make this an open contest and PSG have to prove they can deal with the Gunners’ set-piece expertise.
Centre-back Gabriel is averaging 0.88 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season and the Brazilian is at 0.82 in Europe.
Clearly, not all of those efforts have hit the target, but PSG may not be as well equipped to deal with Arsenal#s corners and free-kicks as the bulk of Premier League teams.
Mikel Arteta will feel that his team have a physical and size advantage on the Parisians, and that should be put to good use, in a final which Arsenal are expected to be competitive.
Gabriel is a nice price to hit an effort on target in Budapest.
Special of the Day – Scotland to win & under 0.5 Curacao goals Bet Builder @ 27/40
Scotland play their final home game before the head to the World Cup and the Tartan Army have picked a strong squad for the contest against Curacao.
Steve Clarke has Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney, Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and John McGinn available for selection and the Scots are fancied for a comfortable Hampden Park success.
Curacao qualified for the World Cup for the first time in their history, but they were crushed 5-1 in a March friendly and that followed a 2-0 defeat to China.
The Caribbean islanders look outclassed against Scotland and the Tartan Army are fancied to win to nil.
Longshot of the Day – Malmo, GAIS, Flamengo treble @ 11/4
It’s four straight Allsvenskan defeats for Malmo, but the Sky Blue have played well enough to score eight times on that winless run and they should be able to beat Hacken on home turf.
GAIS have lost only one of their last seven Allsvenskan and that loss came in an unfortunate 2-1 defeat at Sirius last weekend. Kalmar have lost all of their four away games this season and a fifth defeat awaits in Gothenburg.
A trio of late goals guided Flamengo to a 3-0 Copa Libertadores success in midweek and the Scarlet and Black can see off Coritiba at the Maracana when returning to domestic duty.
