Bet of the day
AC Milan to win to nil vs Venezia @ 11/10
AC Milan were disappointed to finish fifth in last season’s Serie A a distant 17 points behind their city rivals Inter, but they should have few problems coming out on top of their clash against promoted Venezia at the San Siro.
Their opponents claimed the Serie B title last season, losing just one of their last 24 matches, but they were not dominant on their travels as they drew five of their final six on the road.
This plainly represents a step up in class and they were frustrated in their opening game at home to Lecce, which they lost 2-1.
Milan failed to win their last four home games of last term as their campaign ended with a whimper, but they look stronger this time and can come through without conceding.
Bet builder
Both teams to score, Jean-Philippe Mateta to score at any time & over 10.5 corners in Crystal Palace vs Manchester City @ 6/1
Both Crystal Palace and Manchester City will feel they did not play to their full potential in their opening Premier League fixtures of the season and that should ensure they dish up an entertaining clash at Selhurst Park.
City left it late against Bournemouth to claim a 2-1 victory but new manager Enzo Maresca has such a host of attacking options that they represent a great threat, while Palace missed a host of chances in their 2-0 loss to Everton.
Jean-Philippe Mateta was as guilty as anyone in a Palace shirt when it came to squandering opportunities, but it is worth chancing that he will break his duck for the season after netting 12 times and a Bet Builder can be completed by selecting there to be at least 11 corners.
City earned an average of 6.42 flag-kicks in their Premier League games last season and forced eight when they saw off the Cherries, so the required number could be eclipsed.
Acca
Both teams to score in the games at Alaves, Lille, Bayern Munich & Groningen @ 19/4
Some of the big guns are in action on Friday with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich taking on Stuttgart, who head to the Allianz Arena with both teams scoring in 16 of their last 20 league outings.
Lille beat Angers 2-0 in their opening game of the Ligue 1 campaign and both teams have netted in nine of their last ten games against champions Paris Saint-Germain, who drew their first match against Rennes last week.
There have been at least three goals in six of Alaves’ last eight league games in Spain and their opponents Villarreal have been involved in two 2-2 draws so far and the set can be completed by Groningen’s game against Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch top flight.
Both teams have scored in Groningen’s last seven league matches and in six of Fortuna’s last eight.
