T20 World Cup Final betting tips for India vs New Zealand
The final of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup pits New Zealand against India on Sunday in what should be a spectacular occasion at the cavernous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both teams arrive in red‑hot form after impressive semi‑final victories, with the Black Caps crushing South Africa by nine wickets in Kolkata before the co-hosts held off England in a Mumbai run-fest.
New Zealand are bidding to win a first global white-ball title since 2000, while India could become the first team to win the T20 World Cup at home and also the first to retain the trophy.

T20 World Cup final betting tips
- India Top Batter – Sanju Samson @ 16/5
- Finn Allen Over 22.5 Runs @ 17/20
- Match Sixes – Over 18.5 @ 4/5
Samson looks like a strong selection
India’s batting has been explosive throughout the tournament, but no player has been more influential in the knockout stages than Sanju Samson.
The wicketkeeper‑batter smashed 89 off 42 balls against England, capitalising on an early drop to propel India to a massive 253.
Samson has now produced back‑to‑back match‑defining innings in the Super 8s and semi‑finals, and his ability to dominate both pace and spin makes him India’s most reliable run‑getter heading into the final.
With Ahmedabad expected to offer good batting conditions early on, Samson has the ideal profile to profit the most.
India’s other opener, Abhishek Sharma, has struggled for form, while some of the middle-order batters may not get enough time in the middle to outpace Samson once he gets going.
Allen peaking for Black Caps
Finn Allen is the Black Caps; answer to the swashbuckling Samson at the top of the order and he too has found his best form at just the right time.
The right-hander bludgeoned a brilliant unbeaten ton in Wednesday’s semi-final win over the Proteas, bringing up his century in the grand manner with a six and a four in consecutive balls.
Allen’s solitary failure in the last month came in New Zealand’s opening game against Afghanistan, since when he has posted innings of 84 not out, 31, 21, 23, 29 and 100 not out.
His tournament average of 57.80 is the fourth-best among players with more than 200 runs and his strike rate of 203.52 is unsurpassed by any batter with more than a handful of runs.
Allen was recalled for the final match of New Zealand’s 4-1 T20 series defeat to India earlier this year, making 80 of 38 balls against an attack featuring Jasprit Bumrah, Harik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy.
He was also the highest runscorer in this winter’s Big Bash League in Australia with 466 runs at an average of 42.36.
And on what is likely to be a good batting wicket in Ahmedabad, he could weigh in with at least 23 runs again.
Maximum chances for six-hitting stars
Both teams have explosive batting line-ups and, although the match is being played at the world’s largest cricket venue, the boundaries may not be big enough to contain them.
India have blasted 85 sixes across their eight tournament outings while New Zealand have struck 55 maximums, despite playing on some trickier pitches.
The ropes at Narendra Modi Stadium have been pulled in a little for this tournament and matches there have tended to produce plenty of huge boundary hits.
There were 21 sixes struck in the last Ahmedabad match between West Indies and South Africa and a target of at least 19 looks likely in this showpiece.
