Strasbourg v Crystal Palace prediction

The Eagles head into the fixture in excellent form after Saturday’s 2-0 win at Wolves, a result that put them back on track following their draw with rivals Brighton before the international break and gave them four victories in their last five games across all competitions.

That weekend triumph in the West Midlands also lifted Oliver Glasner’s side up to fifth in the Premier League, leaving them just one point outside the top four.

Palace have been strong on the road as well so far this season, losing only two of their last 12 away matches in all competitions, winning their last two. That run includes an eye-catching 3-0 victory at Anfield in the Carabao Cup last month.

The south London side will also be encouraged by their promising start to their debut European campaign. They head to France with two wins from their three league phase matches so far, sitting just outside the top eight on goal difference.

Strasbourg, meanwhile, approach tonight’s test amid a mixed spell of form, with three wins, three defeats, and two draws in their last eight outings.

Under the guidance of former Brighton right-back Liam Rosenior, the French team have won three of their last five and two of their last three, giving them confidence they can add another victory this evening.

They do boast an impressive home record this season, losing only one of their eight home fixtures in all competitions. Strasbourg have taken three wins and conceded just once in their last four games at the Stade de la Meinau.

This campaign marks Strasbourg’s first European appearance in six years and their first time reaching the group or league phase of a UEFA competition since 2006, and currently sit with seven points from their three games so far.

Strasbourg’s strong home form combined with Crystal Palace’s strong away record should make for an entertaining affair as two of the best teams in the competition collide – I can see them each going toe to toe for an enjoyable 1-1 draw.

Strasbourg v Crystal Palace betting tips

Stalemate in Strasbourg

Strasbourg have lost just one of their eight matches at home in all competitions this season, drawing both of their home games in Europe so far this season, while Crystal Palace head to France unbeaten in their last five, which suggests both unbeaten records may continue.

Panichelli pain for Palace

Joaquin Panichelli has already reached double figures in goals for the season in all competitions, making him the leading scorer across both teams’ squads heading into tonight’s match, with one of his goals coming in his last Conference League appearance.

Will Hughes be carded?

No player in either squad has been booked on as many occasions this season as Will Hughes, the Crystal Palace midfielder already having been cautioned on five occasions in all competitions, including the Eagles’ last away game in the Conference League.
