Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama takes significant step amid concussion protocol
The San Antonio Spurs seemed poised to cruise through the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers, but thinks took an interesting twist during Game 2 when star big man Victor Wembanyama suffered a concussion after taking a brutal fall in the paint.
The Defensive Player of the Year missed the rest of the game, and things went from bad to worse when the Blazers erased a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the series at one game all.
Now, all the attention has turned to Wembanyama’s Game 3 status as he works his way through concussion protocol. On Wednesday, the Frenchman was able to participate in cardio work as he works his way back, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
