Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama reaction to Stephon Castle poster jam same as every fan

The San Antonio Spurs are not resting on their laurels of a Game 1 double overtime victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They came to play on the road in Game 2, looking for a stranglehold on the Western Conference Finals.

In a tightly contested first half, the Spurs found themselves trailing by four points with just over eight minutes left in the second quarter. While Victor Wembanyama steals most of the headlines, it was Stephon Castle that created the highlight of the night.

Maybe the highlight of the playoffs.

Castle skied over seven-footer Isaiah Hartenstein for an unbelievable poster dunk.

The jam sent social media on fire. NBA fans could not scroll for more than a few seconds without seeing different angles of the angry jam from the second-year guard out of UConn.

But the fans were not the only ones astounded by what they witnessed.

Even Wembanyama was at a loss for words as he jogged back down the court.

That reaction sums up just about how everyone felt when they first saw the throwdown. That includes NBC courtside announcer and Hall of Famer Reggie Miller.

Despite the momentous dunk, it was Oklahoma City that captured momentum. The Thunder would close the half on a 19-10 run to take an 11-point lead into the locker room.

The injury bug has bitten both teams as well. The Thunder lost Jalen Williams, who reaggravated a hamstring injury. Then late in the third quarter, Spurs wing Dylan Harper suffered a hamstring injury himself. Both players are in the locker room and have been ruled out for the rest of the game.

San Antonio is also without its starting point guard, D’Aaron Fox. The All-Star guard is dealing with an ankle injury.
