Spurs’ Dylan Harper suffers injury, leaves Thunder Game 2

The physicality of the 2026 Western Conference Finals series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder is taking a toll on both teams.

In the third quarter of Wednesday night’s Game 2 of the series at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, rising Spurs star Dylan Harper appeared to have suffered a lower-body injury while trying to attack the Thunder’s interior defense.

Here is a look at what happened:

Harper apparently is done for the rest of the night, with Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints relaying a report that the former Rutgers Scarlet Knight star has already been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

This is a significant blow for the Spurs’ chances to steal another win in Oklahoma City, considering how big a role the 20-year-old guard has played for San Antonio.

Before he left the game, Harper scored 12 points on an efficient 5-for-10 shooting from the field (all inside the arc) to go along with two rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes.

In the Spurs’ 122-115 double-overtime win in Game 1 versus the Thunder, he had 24 points and 11 rebounds to go with six assists and seven steals in 47 minutes.

With Harper sidelined, Stephon Castle will have a bigger load to carry in the backcourt. Jordan McLaughlin is also seeing minutes off the bench, as the Spurs try to successfully navigate the rest of the evening without Harper.

The hope for the Spurs is that Harper’s injury is not serious enough to jeopardize his availability for their next games.

San Antonio will host the series in Game 3 and Game 4 on Friday and Sunday, respectively, at Frost Bank Center.
