Spurs’ Bismack Biyombo grabs attention with IG post after WCF win

The San Antonio Spurs’ rebuild didn’t last very long; they’re back in the NBA Finals in just Year 3 of the Victor Wembanyama era, and what a difficult road it took for them to get where they are. After all, they had to overcome the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, and they did — with the Spurs claiming a 111-103 victory punctuated by Devin Vassell’s statement dunk.

The Spurs have a deep roster that could go 10 deep, although they prefer to roll with an eight-man rotation when facing adversity like they did in Game 7. The rest of the Spurs roster is comprised of veterans who help steady the ship for this young team — with Bismack Biyombo being one of the most influential voices in the locker room.

Even though Biyombo, who is only 33 years of age, is no longer a playoff rotation-caliber player, he is integral to this Spurs team and deserves to enjoy their success as much as any member of the organization. And he celebrated the blessings that continue to befall his life by posting on Instagram.

Biyombo first signed with the Spurs back in February 2025, and he played 28 games for San Antonio to end the 2024-25 campaign — starting in 26 of them. The Spurs needed frontcourt help after Wembanyama’s ’24-’25 campaign suffered a premature end due to a blood clot, and Biyombo answered the call. This endeared him to the organization, which then brought him back for this current season.

With the Spurs rapidly improving, Biyombo fell out of the rotation, as he played fewer games this past regular season (25) than he did for the entire 2024-25 campaign. But Biyombo is a selfless member of the team, and he’s one of the most prominent NBA players to engage in humanitarian efforts — making him an overall easy person for millions to root for.
