Sophie Cunningham ready for Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Last Dance’ in 2026 FIFA World Cup
A lot of people will be emotional when it comes to seeing their favorite stars take part in their last tournament. That is certainly the case for Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham when it involves her support for Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of his appearance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ronaldo is set to take part in the sixth World Cup of his professional career, first appearing in 2006. He has starred in every Portugal squad since that debut, standing tall as their greatest player in national team history.
Even at his advanced age of 41, Ronaldo continues to find ways to score goals as he is nearing the milestone of 1,000 goals. He will get closer to that mark if he nets multiple goals throughout the tournament, and there will be plenty of chances for him to pull that off.
Cunningham reacted to a post that is showing the players taking part in their last World Cup, which includes Ronaldo. She shared the post on Instagram as she used two emoticons to express her appreciation for one of her sports role models.
“One Last Dance,” the original post read.

Ronaldo has scored eight goals throughout his career in the World Cup, four of them happening in 2018. He notched one goal in the other tournaments, something he will look to avoid repeating in his final appearance.
Portugal gets set for its World Cup journey against Congo DR on June 17 at 1 p.m. ET. After that, they face Uzbekistan on June 23 at 1 p.m. ET and Colombia on June 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
