Simon Jordan doubles down on ‘treacherous hound’ Rob Edwards after ‘egg on your face’ claim
Simon Jordan has doubled down on his feelings towards ‘treacherous hound’ Rob Edwards despite Wolves’ upturn in form.
Wolves, who seemed doomed for relegation, have drawn with Arsenal and beaten Aston Villa and Liverpool in the last two weeks.

It has reignited some minuscule hope that they could pull off a miracle and stay in the Premier League this season, just a few days after managing to avoid setting the worst points record ever.
Edwards has rejuvenated a side that looked to already be focused on the Championship next season after a dismal start to his tenure.
Wolves lost their first seven games under the former Middlesbrough manager but have now only lost four times since December.
talkSPORT host and former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has admitted that Edwards has done well to get a tune out of his players.
However, he has stuck by his stance that the 43-year-old boss was wrong to leave Boro mid-season amid their Championship promotion push.
“Undoubtedly, he’s improved it and he should be given plaudits for it,” Jordan said on talkSPORT after Wolves beat Liverpool.
“The results that he got in the last week have probably justified the observations that he made, that I thought he was unwise to be making, after the Arsenal game of having a go at Wolves fans.
“I didn’t think that was a wise thing to do at this stage in his tenure. I didn’t think it was a wise thing to do, full stop. But the fact of the matter is, the team’s produced performances, so it’s worked.”
He went on to add: “Listen, I’ve said in conversations recently about the manner in which they’re getting relegated.
“If they were to pull this off, it would be a remarkable escape act, but if they go down with some fight, it bodes well for their starting campaign, which is what I said about a month ago – how you go down matters.”

‘A treacherous hound’
Jordan then continued: “It’s interesting how he’s got into them, how he changed it around… he’s obviously got around the culture.
“Rob Edwards has got in there, got some younger players playing, a bit of pride in themselves and they’ve got a few results.
“That’s what he was brought in to do, so if they can get a whiff of momentum, then fantastic.
“It’s a fabulous story if they can do it, but they’re not going to.”
Co-host Jim White then brought up his past criticism of Edwards, saying: “You don’t want to end up with egg on your face, do you?”
To which Jordan replied: “I think he was a treacherous hound. Do I think that’s changed? No. I want him to go down, not the football club, I want him to get precisely what he deserves.

“Unfortunately, the club is the casualty, but the football club was already going down before he got there.
“He was coming in to put some hundreds and thousands on the particular turd that someone else had left.
“The bottom line is that I wanted was for him to give some loyalty to the people who had given him an opportunity.
“That was my fundamental thinking about Rob Edwards and I don’t change from that – should he have gone and done a better job? Yes, of course, he should’ve done a better job, he wasn’t brought in to do a worse job.
“I’d be happy to eat my words and go, ‘what a remarkable achievement and what a fabulous return for him’…
“But he won’t – he’ll be in the Championship next year.”

Wolves’ remaining games
After their positive run, Wolves are now looking to achieve one of the greatest escapes the Premier League has ever seen.
They’re 11 points from safety with eight games left to play – and with five of them away from home, Jordan doesn’t have much hope.
He predicted: “They’re going to have to win six of these games, certainly five.
“And whilst it’s great, look at their away from, they’re winning games at home… they don’t get many points away from home.”
He added: “Let’s see how they do against lower opposition on paper, Fulham and Brentford are going to give them an easy game.”
Wolves next face high-flying Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday, March 16, live on talkSPORT.
