Sidemen wouldn’t ‘want to show up’ new YouTube star Erling Haaland in charity match after Luke Littler denied

Erling Haaland has cheekily been warned against making a future appearance in the Sidemen charity match.

The annual football match made up of leading content creators took place on Saturday at Wembley Stadium between Sidemen FC and YouTube Allstars.

Some of the names on show included KSI, Angry Ginge and ChrisMD however two notable names will be missing in Logan Paul and iShowSpeed.

Instead, the pair will be competing at WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

Not every popular name qualifies to play in the match with only content creators invited to play, as Luke Littler recently found out.

“It sounds so bad, but we only have content creators on the Sidemen Charity Match,” Sidemen member KSI said.

“So, we haven’t ever had a celebrity come on to play. That’s more for, like, Soccer Aid. You never know, maybe one day we’ll have Soccer Aid versus Sidemen.

“I think for us we’re focusing more on just content creators. That’s how it’s always been, and even if Justin Bieber wanted to play, we’d go, ‘No! Content creators only.'”

However, one man who could technically qualify for the match is Manchester City striker Haaland, who recently started his own YouTube channel.

The Norwegian has posted 40 videos to his account which has garnered 1.51 million subscribers.

Despite his newfound social media fame, Haaland did not receive an invite to this year’s competition.

Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT.com at Wembley, Vikkstar and Ethan Page, better known as Behzinga, explained why the Norwegian superstar was absent from Wembley.

“We didn’t want to show him up,” Vikkstar said.

Behzinga added: “A couple of FPL blanks, wouldn’t want him to blank here as well.”

For now, Haaland has the small matter of Sunday’s title showdown when Manchester City host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norwegian is without a goal in his last four Premier League fixtures but few would bet against him ending his drought against the Gunners.

Haaland boasts another prolific season for Pep Guardiola’s men with 33 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.

A reported £8.5 million has been raised for charity from the six previous charity matches.

Last year’s match at Wembley was raised a whopping £4.7m in aid of BBC Children in Need, Bright Side and M7 Education.
