Shakur Stevenson promised two huge fights by Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing in agreement

Shakur Stevenson has suggested showdowns with Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis have been promised to him by Zuffa Boxing.

Stevenson made a significant move in his career as he elected to sign a lucrative contract with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

The deal, bankrolled by Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, is likely to see him feature on blockbuster bills such as his last victory over Teofimo Lopez.

Right now, talks are on the table with fellow American superstar Devin Haney over a potential catchweight contest.

The pair have verbally agreed to a clash, with the pound-for-pound star signing his end of a deal for a fight in October.

And the Newark technician insists a fight with Davis was also promised, as part of some big nights ahead with the start-up promotion.

He explained: “Dana [White] and Nick [Khan], they kept saying, ‘We want to get you in with the best fighters.

“We wanted you to fight the best.’ The guys that they mentioned was Devin and Tank.

“And when I heard that, I’m like, why would I go away from what I’ve been wanting to do my whole career?

“I think my whole career I’ve been saying the titles and all that, I done it. With all due respect to the titles, I want to fight the best.

“I want to get in there and prove myself and get under them bright lights and see who’s the best. I’m not scared of taking no risk.”

Stevenson is already a four-weight world champion and has received all of the traditional accolades.

But for the gifted southpaw, he believes now is the time to cash in and earn lucrative purses against some of the sport’s biggest superstars.

Stevenson fights with Haney and Davis – will they happen?

Haney is also a big name but has yet to sign with Zuffa Boxing himself despite intensifying links.

The pair have gone back and forth on social media over a catchweight, with Haney currently plying his trade as a world champion at 147lbs.

But it still appears for now that ‘The Dream’ is the front runner to face Stevenson next.

As for Davis, he is in a turbulent patch having faced legal issues outside of the ring.

‘Tank’ was recently made a WBA champion in recess, losing his title status after failing to agree a deal to face Floyd Schofield.

It has been suggested that he may now not return until 2027.

A clash with Stevenson would make huge commercial sense, but would be a big ask for the Brooklyn native in any first fight back.
