Robin Lopez puts Enes Kanter, Royce White in dirt with savage ethers of WNBA stunt

Robin Lopez is not with Enes Kanter and Royce White declaring for the WNBA Draft.

Kanter and White made headlines last week for declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft amid transgender player rights becoming a topic of discussion in the league following remarks by Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham. In a response to former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III’s post on X asking fans what they thought about Kanter and White’s declaration for the WNBA Draft, Lopez, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022-2023 NBA season, shared his thoughts on Kanter and White.

“Biggest issue: If you’re being drafted, people are saying “we want you around for 4 years” & I can’t imagine anybody wants Enes Kanter or Royce White around them for even 4 minutes,” Lopez wrote on X. “We’ve seen this illustrated whenever Enes is near Turkey or Royce comes close to logic/reality.”

White reacted to Lopez’s response on X writing, “Lol join the club ROBIN… I’ll slap your big goofy a**, b***h slap you like pootie tang! I will fight over these trans rights.”

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert sent a letter to teams in response to White and Kanter’s latest declarations for the 2027 WNBA Draft.

“I know many of you have received questions in recent weeks regarding transgender athlete participation in women’s basketball, and I expect this topic will continue to receive significant attention,” Engelbert wrote in the memo, per The Associated Press.

“I wanted to reach out to share how we are approaching these conversations at the league office and to thank those of you who have responded to questions from the media with thoughtfulness and professionalism.”

Engelbert concluded her statement explaining that conversations are still underway on this “nuanced topic.”

“We recognize that this is a complex and nuanced topic, and we will continue to have important conversations with all of you and the Players Association in the weeks and months ahead,” Engelbert continued. “We also plan to convene additional discussions and offer listening sessions for any team leaders who would like to participate. Your perspectives and feedback are invaluable, and I appreciate those who have already reached out to share their thoughts.”

In their NBA career, White was drafted No. 16 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets but did not play a regular-season game with the team; instead played for their D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings before signing to the D-League with the Reno Bighorns and later with the London Lightning in Canada’s NBL.

Kanter started off his professional basketball career in Turkey for Fenerbahçe and later declared for the 2011 NBA Draft, where he was third overall and selected by the Utah Jazz. He would later play for the Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks before doing two stints with the Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics throughout 2019 to 2022.
