Rams’ Matthew Stafford lands $55 million contract extension before 18th season

The Los Angeles Rams have made a major decision regarding the extension of their time with star quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Stafford is approaching the 18th year of his remarkable NFL career. He has completed his fifth with the Rams following the 2025 season, continuing to shine as one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league.

Age has yet to stop him, seeing him pull another elite campaign as he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. As a result, Los Angeles made the move to renew his stay with a $55 million contract extension, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.

“Reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford and the Rams reached agreement today on a one-year, $55 million extension worth up to $60 million with incentives. Stafford now has two years and up to $105 million remaining on his deal with the Rams,” Schefter wrote.
