PSG vs Lille predictions and betting tips – Champions have work to do
Paris Saint-Germain are not top of Ligue 1 at the midway point of the campaign, so Luis Enrique will be looking for more consistency from his team in the weeks and months ahead.
Lille are fourth at present, so this will not necessarily be an easy game for the champions. Will we see a surprise result at the Parc des Princes on Friday night?

PSG vs Lille predictions
We are only in January but we can already say with certainty that Paris Saint-Germain will not replicate last season’s treble success in 2025/26.
PSG are still targeting glory in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, but they will not be the winners of the Coupe de France this term.
Luis Enrique’s side were eliminated from that competition on Monday evening, going down 1-0 in a painful derby defeat by Paris FC.
It is a result which will live long in the memories of the supporters of that club, who had lost 2-1 to PSG in Ligue 1 around a week earlier.
It was another reminder that, despite their status as reigning European champions, PSG cannot take anything for granted domestically.
In several seasons since the club was bought by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, PSG have dominated Ligue 1. Last term, for instance, they finished 19 points clear of runners-up Marseille in a 34-game campaign.
Yet on more than one occasion, PSG have failed to win the title despite their significant financial and structural advantages.
In 2011/12, Montpellier finished at the summit of the standings. In 2016/17, Monaco bumped PSG down to second. In 2020/21, Lille were the kings of France.
They are unlikely to replicate that achievement this time around, but Lille are certainly capable of causing PSG problems this weekend. A win at the Parc des Princes would move them four points behind the club from the capital.
A Lille victory would also be cheered by Lens, the surprise leaders of Ligue 1 at the midway point of the season. Their one-point advantage over PSG is not the largest, but Lens’s position in top spot shows that Luis Enrique’s men have a fight on their hands.
“Disappointed with the result and with not having scored, but as far as the match itself is concerned, I think it was a very high-level match. We were the better team and created many chances,” Luis Enrique said after the loss to Paris.
“I think it was a very complete performance. I’m disappointed with the result because we didn’t score. Against Lille, I would happily sign for a performance like today’s, but in football the result is sometimes unfair.”
PSG vs Lille betting tips
Paris Saint-Germain and Lille are ready to go head-to-head in a crunch Ligue 1 clash.
PSG back on track?
Luis Enrique was not wrong to say his team played well on Monday, but they were let down by shoddy finishing. From an xG of 2.27, PSG failed to find the back of the net.
Provided they are less wayward on Friday, the Parisians should have too much for Lille.
Bruno Genesio’s men will arrive at the Parc des Princes having lost back-to-back matches, first to Rennes in the league and then to Lyon in the cup.
Their games are often low-scoring, with three of their last four Ligue 1 outings featuring under 2.5 goals. Err on the side of caution by backing a home victory and at least two strikes.
Go for a PSG win and over 1.5 goals at 4/6 with SBK
PSG to start well
Lille average the fourth-highest possession in Ligue 1, but they will not have a great deal of the ball here.
Genesio’s charges will instead focus on attacking in transition. Although they will have to defend with discipline and organisation, it is essential that they also offer a threat going the other way.
It is not easy to get that balance right, though, and PSG have the ability to pin visiting teams back on home turf.
Luis Enrique’s men have the best first-half record in the division, so we expect them to be ahead after both 45 and 90 minutes.

Doue one to watch
Luis Enrique went with a front three of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Goncalo Ramos and Bradley Barcola against Paris FC.
As PSG return to Ligue 1 action this weekend, we should see Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue replace Ramos and Barcola in the XI.
Doue has scored in back-to-back league matches, making the net bulge against both Metz and Paris.
The 20-year-old is a real threat in the final third and he is likely to have an impact on this game one way or another.
Tip Desire Doue to score or assist at 4/6 with bet365
