PSG might be champions of Europe but this team would not win the Premier League
Paris Saint-Germain don’t have what it takes to win the Premier League despite winning back-to-back Champions League finals.
That is the view of former Liverpool and Wales striker Dean Saunders, who thinks their defence would let them down over 38 games in England.

PSG players and fans have been on cloud nine recently thanks to their win over Arsenal in Budapest on penalties, which saw them become European champions for the second time.
It follows their victory over Inter in the 2025 edition.
PSG have ‘no chance’
However, Saunders has doubts over Luis Enrique’s side battling top Premier League sides every week.
The talkSPORT co-host joined Jamie O’Hara on The Sports Bar and was asked whether PSG had a shot at the crown.
“No chance,” Saunders said.
“Not good enough at the back. It’s a battle every week the Premier League.
“They’re not good enough at the back for me. Going at people like they do every week – they’ll get mugged.”
As well as their Champions League victories, PSG have also won five consecutive Ligue 1 titles.
Last season’s triumph was also part of an historic treble for the French giants.
Meanwhile, they beat Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool during their run to the Champions League final.

Newcastle United also failed to beat PSG in the league phase, drawing 1-1 at the Parc des Princes.
Their run in the competition last season included wins over Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal.
Wolves could win ‘every other league’
Saunders also made the bold claim that Wolves would have a chance of winning every other European league despite their relegation.
The Premier League’s bottom club, who Saunders managed in 2013, finished 21 points from safety as their eight-year stay came to an end.
Rob Edwards’ side won just three of their 38 matches over the course of the campaign.
However, Saunders explained: “Wolves were bottom of the league in the Premier League. Wolves would have a chance of winning every other league.

“If Wolves were in any of the other leagues, they’d have a chance of winning it.
“Wolves’ team that got relegated this year, they’re all international, it’s the strongest league. They’d have a chance of winning. They’d have a chance.”
O’Hara was having none of Saunders’ argument, though, as he replied: “What are you on about? Garbage. What are you on about?”
Saunders hit back by adding: “They can spend more money than most clubs in Europe.
As a player, 61-year-old had spells with the likes of Liverpool, Villa, Galatasaray and Benfica.
He continued: “I’ll tell you what, they’re playing Bayern Munich right now, but you’ve got to remember Wolves getting relegated, if they got their team in order at full strength and confident, they could go into any league and challenge in Britain.

“I’ve played abroad, this is the hardest league in the world.”
Pointing to the strength of the Premier League, Saunders concluded: “You beat someone 6-0 and we’d be coasting, that’s 6-0.
“You don’t get games like that in the Premier League. The bottom team in the Premier League can beat the top team at any point.”
Of Wolves’ three league wins this season, two came against top five finishers Villa and Liverpool.
