Malonga is set to have an ‘immersion’ phase when he joins City, before heading out on loan to further his development.

A summer of change at City

After a decade of glittering success, Pep Guardiola has left City and is set to be replaced by his former assistant Enzo Maresca.

Maresca, who has previously managed Leicester City and Chelsea, had already agreed to take over before the end of the 2025/26 season.

talkSPORT understands that a three-year contract has been agreed in principle between the Italian and City.

Willy Caballero, who spent three years at City as a goalkeeper, is also expected to be part of Maresca’s backroom team.

Managerial change aside, City have also bid farewell to two long-term stars in Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

Real Madrid have agreed a deal in principle to sign Silva, who won 20 trophies with City after his 2017 arrival from Monaco.

Ibrahima Konate is also expected to join Madrid having agreed terms with the club amid his Liverpool exit.
