Omar Marmoush deal ‘certain’ to trigger instant exit for Tottenham star

Omar Marmoush’s imminent arrival at Tottenham Hotspur is bad news for one of the club’s current forwards.

That is according to talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist, who believe Richarlison is now a ‘certainty’ to leave Spurs this summer.

Marmoush is on the verge of completing a move to north London from Manchester City.

The Egypt striker has been given permission to undergo a medical ahead of a season-long loan switch with an obligation to buy.

Once made permanent, Spurs will pay an initial £50million plus up to £10million in add-ons.

However, his arrival could spell the end of Richarlison’s time at Tottenham with the transfer deadline fast approaching.

The 29-year-old is into the final year of his current contract having joined the club from Everton in 2022.

Premier League sides have until 11pm on Tuesday to conclude their summer transfer business.

Will Richarlison leave Spurs?

Brazil and McCoist reacted to Marmoush’ move to Spurs live on Wednesday’s talkSPORT Breakfast show.

The former believes it spells the end of Richarlison’s time at the club, admitting: “I think Richarlison is a certainty to leave.”

His co-host agreed, with McCoist replying: “Yes, I would guess that would be the case.”

Brazil then added: “He looks a moody git doesn’t he? He’s really moody, like the whole world’s against him.

“Sometimes he looks as if he’s like, ‘I don’t care,’ and then other times he can be brilliant, but he’s gone.”

Meanwhile, McCoist explained: “I think he’s leaving. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that, I think he’s going to go to pastures new.”

Richarlison at Spurs

Richarlison has scored 32 goals in 134 appearances since joining Spurs four years ago.

He was part of the side which ended their 17-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa League in 2025.

Speculation surrounding his future comes just days after he started their opening weekend defeat to Brentford.

Dominic Solanke replaced Richarlison in attack for Roberto De Zerbi’s side during their 3-0 away loss on Saturday.

As for Marmoush, he has 10 goals and five assists in 37 Premier League outings for City.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, he has also won both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
