Olivia Miles earns high praise from analyst after historic start

On Saturday morning’s edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, Andraya Carter showed a lot of love to Olivia Miles following her hot start to the season for the Minnesota Lynx. Miles has been one of the biggest stories in the WNBA this season, stepping up her play early in her rookie campaign in light of the injury to Naphessa Collier.

Carter spoke glowingly about the various aspects of Miles’s game.

“Oh my goodness, I’ve seen so many things from both of these rookies. But talking about Olivia Miles, it’s hard for me to even pick what my favorite thing has been with her game so far this season, because I’ve been impressed by so many aspects of her game. Her pace, her poise, her passing, Olivia Miles’ ability to completely control the game with the ball in her hands. Whether she’s in transition, whether she’s coming off of ball screens, she can operate, she’s already connected to her teammates, she knows their spots, she can get to the rim off of the ball screen action. It’s fascinating.

She added, “The same things we were seeing Olivia Miles doing at TCU last year in college. She is executing those same plays for the Minnesota Lynx at the next level, and she’s doing it beautifully and masterfully.”

On Saturday afternoon, Miles had another standout performance. She finished the 88-68 victory over Seattle Storm with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists. She made her presence spot for the game early, serving as a scorer and a facilitator for the team as they overcame an early first half deficit to regain control of the game
