Nikola Jokic incites brawl after full-speed rushing Timberwolves with 1 second left

The Minnesota Timberwolves battled injuries during their Game 4 rout of the Denver Nuggets. But both teams engaged in a heated moment with 1.3 seconds left of Saturday’s NBA Playoff game sparked by Nikola Jokic.

Denver’s Jokic rushed over to Jaden McDaniels following a late Minnesota bucket, occurring with the T-Wolves already up 112-96. Jokic eventually got ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

McDaniels even grabs Jokic’s gameday jersey during the confrontation.

Both teams watched their benches clear before officials broke up the skirmish. Suspensions are likely coming via the NBA league office, including for Jokic’s role in inciting the brawl. Julius Randle of Minnesota also became another who was ejected with 1.3 left.

NBA insider for ClutchPoints Brett Siegel identified two T-Wolves players who could face discipline, though.

“I doubt the NBA office will suspend the players for this, but Rudy Gobert and Bones Hyland did step foot on the court, enter the altercation, and escalate things at the end of tonight’s game. No Denver bench players were directly involved,” Siegel posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Jokic ended with 24 points through 41 minutes on the floor. Jamal Murray led Denver scoring wise by dropping 30. Tim Hardaway Jr. became the last Denver player to reach double figures in scoring 10 points.

Ayo Dosunmu surfaced as the big surprise for Minnesota by delivering a game-high 43 points. Dosunmu stepped into the lead scoring role with Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Edwards exiting with scary injuries.

But again the ending sparked the most discussions postgame among fans and media.
