Next Nottingham Forest manager odds: Ex-Wolves boss odds on favourite to replace Dyche

Former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira is the current odds on favourite to take over as the new Nottingham Forest manager following Sean Dyche’s sacking on Thursday morning.

Dyche was given his marching orders on Thursday morning following Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw against a bottom of the table Wolves side, leaving the club sat in 17th place in the Premier League table, just three points above the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest have made the decision to sack the 54-year-old despite only losing one of their last six Premier League matches, with only seven teams having picked up more points than the east Midlands side in that run of games.

Vitor Pereira is the heavy odds on favourite to be named as the new Nottingham Forest manager, which would be the first time in Premier League history a club have had four permanent managers in one season, having already sacked Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou this term.

The Portuguese has been out of a job since his sacking by Wolves in early November after 11 months in the role at Molineux, and boasts a CV that includes winning league titles in Portugal, Greece and China.

The 57-year-old’s previous experience in England saw him take charge of a Wolves side who were 19th in the Premier League table at the time and five points from safety with just two wins from their opening 16 games of the season, ending the campaign 16th in the league table and 17 points clear of the bottom three.

However the current campaign started horribly for the West Midlands side and Pereira was shown the exit door in early November with the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just two points to their name from their opening 10 games of the league campaign.

Thomas Frank is currently priced as the second favourite at 5/1 to be named the new Nottingham Forest manager, with the job becoming vacant just 24 hours after the Dane was relieved of his duties as Tottenham manager.

The 52-year-old was only appointed as Spurs manager in the summer after the best part of seven successful seasons in charge of Brentford, but leaves the north London club 16th in the Premier League table and just five points above the drop zone.

Ruben Amorim, Roberto de Zerbi and Enzo Maresca are all tied at joint-third to be named as Dyche’s successor at the City Ground, all currently without a job having each recently left their roles as manager of Manchester United, Marseille and Chelsea respectively since the turn of the new year.

Gary Rowett is another name in the conversation with a move to the City Ground. The 51-year-old has never managed in the Premier League before and is without a job following his sacking from Oxford in December with the side down in the relegation zone.
