Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13.

Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first after a delayed start to the game due to rain and thunderstorms. Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen threw away flying starts before Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green held fort. The young duo added a crucial 68-run stand off just 46 balls.

After Green was dismissed in the 13th over for a 24-ball 32, Rinku Singh joined forces with Raghuvanshi. They smashed a 76-run stand off 46 balls to help the Knights finish on 192/4 in 20 overs.

In reply, the Royal Challengers lost the wicket of Jacob Bethell early in the fourth over. However, Virat Kohli got off the mark after two consecutive ducks in the last two games. Devdutt Padikkal also started well. Both batters got reprieves early in their innings.

Kohli and Padikkal stitched a 92-run stand off 59 balls to put RCB in a position of strength. The latter was eventually dismissed for 39 off 27 balls in the 14th over. Rajat Patidar and Tim David couldn't score too many, but added crucial partnerships alongside Kohli to take the hosts to the brink.

Kohli brought up his ninth IPL century in the penultimate over. On the first ball of the 20th over, Jitesh Sharma hit a boundary to take his team to an important victory.

Key moments from the game:

1) Virat Kohli makes KKR pay for fielding lapse

Rovman Powell dropped a tough chance to dismiss Virat Kohli when the latter was batting on 21. This was the stroke of luck the former RCB skipper was hoping for after registering ducks in the last two matches. Kohli struck 11 fours and three sixes during his unbeaten 105-run knock off 60 balls, finishing with a strike rate of 175.

2) Angkrish Raghuvanshi showcases his stunning talent

Angkrish Raghuvanshi brought up his fourth fifty in IPL 2026. After KKR lost two wickets inside the power play, the right-handed batter held the innings together. He finished on 71 off 46 balls, belting seven fours and three sixes. He played orthodox cricketing shots but still batted at a decent strike rate of 154.35.

3) Manish Pandey takes a blinder

Manish Pandey is one of the finest fielders to have played the game of cricket. He might be 36 years old, but he continues to take some spectacular catches on the field. In the 18th over of the second innings, the Karnataka cricketer dived to his left while standing at backward point and took a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Tim David.
