On Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson celebrates his 30th birthday, which comes on the heels of leading his team to a championship and being named NBA Finals MVP, and the New York Post is celebrating the star.

The back pages of the Aug. 31 edition of the New York Post feature Brunson with a birthday hat on and the caption, “Not Brun Yet.”

Before turning 30 years old, Brunson won a championship, made three NBA All-Star teams, and was named All-NBA Second Team three times. He also won two national championships while in college at Villanova. Suffice it to say, he has done almost everything imaginable in his young career, and he is still going.

It has been an eventful year and summer for Brunson. He led the Knicks on a dominant run in the postseason, going 16-3 during the playoffs.

On their way to the NBA Finals, the Knicks swept two of their opponents, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. They went on a 13-game win streak after going down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, which was snapped by the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

However, that did not keep the Knicks down for long. They came back from being down by as much as 29 points in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

Brunson then scored 45 points in Game 5 to help the Knicks put the Spurs away in the NBA Finals. His 45-point masterpiece likely solidified his status as the MVP of the series.

The championship win capped off Brunson’s fourth season with the Knicks in the best way possible. He joined the team in 2022 after starting his career with the Dallas Mavericks. Slowly but surely, the team became a contender, making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025 before winning it all the next year.
