Nelly Korda dominates Chevron Championship to win 3rd LPGA major, reclaim No. 1 ranking

Nelly Korda has done it again. Korda just won her second event of the year, after winning at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions back in February.

This win was a little different for Korda, who dominated at The Chevron Championship.

Korda took a five-stroke victory at The Chevron Championship, winning her third major in her career. She also won this event in 2024 and won the Women’s PGA Championship back in 2021. He has not won any of the other three majors, finishing tied for second at both the U.S. Women’s Open and Women’s British Open, while her best finish at the Evian Championship is tied for eighth.

Korda finished the tournament at 18 under par, five strokes better than the two golfers tied for second. Meanwhile, it was also five strokes better than her 2024 victory, in which she shot 13 under par to win by two strokes. Her five-stroke victory is the largest since Lorena Ochoa won the event by five strokes in 2008. The largest margin of victory belongs to Karrie Webb, who won by ten strokes in 2000.

With the win, Korda will also move back to the number one spot in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. That will give Korda her 109th week as the world number one, which will tie Yani Tseng for the fourth most of all time. She takes that spot from Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, who did not make the cut at The Chevron Championship. Still, Korda will need to spend the rest of the year in the top spot to start encroaching on the most of all time. Ko Jin-young was number one in the world for 163 weeks.

After finishing 2024 as the top-ranked women’s golfer in the world, she finished second at the end of 2025. Still, she has ranked in the top five at the end of the year since 2019, being the top-ranked golfer to finish the year twice.
