Morgan Gibbs-White shares gruesome results of injury to face as star requires stitches after collision
Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has revealed the damaging extent of his head collision with Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez.
Gibbs-White and Sanchez banged their heads together midway through the second half of Forest’s 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Sanchez raced out to punch a ball away that Gibbs-White had sprinted onto, only for the pair to endure a sickening head clash.
Both men immediately dropped to the turf as medical staff from Forest and Chelsea raced over.
Thankfully Gibbs-White and Sanchez were able to depart the field on their own accord, albeit with several bandages around their heads.
The nature of the injuries prompted both players to be taken off, with Chris Wood coming on for Gibbs-White and back-up goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen replacing Sanchez.
What does Gibbs-White look like after the collision?
Despite the injury, Gibbs-White appeared in good spirits after the match as he happily posed for the camera to show off his stitches.
In an Instagram story shared by Forest teammate David Bakwa, Gibbs-White gave a thumbs-up and sported a smile, albeit with a white cotton bud placed up his nostril to stem the bleeding.
The Forest star’s white pants were also stained with several droplets of blood.
Gibbs-White then shared a selfie to his own Instagram from the team bus.
In the image, Gibbs-White has a small bandage placed over a cut on his nose and gave fans a closer look at the stitches on his forehead.
Gibbs-White added the caption “Thanks for the messages, what a win congrats T @awoniyi18”.

Sanchez, who also required stitches as a result of the collision, shared a picture of himself on his Instagram and wrote: “Seen that you came out worst than me, hope you are ok big man @morgangibbswhite”.
Gibbs-White’s injury was worrisome given it occurred just days before Forest take on Aston Villa in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday.
Vitor Pereira provides Gibbs-White injury update
Speaking after the win, Forest boss Vitor Pereira was unable to provide clarity on Gibbs-White’s availability for the European fixture, where they hold a 1-0 advantage.
“He’s a fighter, but it’s bad because it’s a big cut,” Pereira told talkSPORT.
“I don’t know (if he’ll play on Thursday), I’m not a doctor. But I hope, because he’s very important for us.
“It’s bad luck, very bad luck. But he has the spirit of a fighter.”
In a boost for Forest, the Premier League confirmed Gibbs-White’s substitution was not part of the league’s concussion protocol.

That means his availability for Thursday’s clash against Villa will depend on whether his cut manages to heal in time.
Which other players were injured?
Gibbs-White and Sanchez were not the only players left reeling from a head knock on Monday.
Chelsea starlet Jesse Derry was taken to hospital after a mid-air collision with Forest defender Zach Abbott which sparked a nine-minute pause in play.
Abbott walked off the field himself but Derry, who was instantly knocked unconscious by the head clash in his first league start for the Blues, required a higher level of medical care.
He was eventually stretchered off and replaced by Liam Delap, with both sets of fans offering their applause out of respect.
Chelsea have since confirmed Derry, who was taken to hospital as a precaution, was conscious and talking.
