Mikal Bridges, Mike Brown shout out unsung hero of Game 3 vs. 76ers

The New York Knicks are as confident as ever after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 108-94 to go up 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Two of their key players, Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, were each the catalysts to put the Knicks in a prime position for a sweep.

Brunson led all scorers with 33 points. Bridges, who fought tooth and nail to end up with 23 points. However, it was Landry Shamet who came through in big ways off the bench. He finished with 15 points in 26 minutes of play. Additionally, Shamet was 5-for-6 from the field and 2-for-3 from the 3-point line.

Shamet hadn’t played much throughout the postseason, but he got his shot, he took it, and it paid off.

Afterward, Brunson and head coach Mike Brown heaped praise on Shamet for his performance, per SNY Knicks Videos. While also praising Mitchell Robinson, who finished with 6 points and 6 rebounds, Brown said Shamet didn’t let the stakes of playing in a postseason game on the road get to him.

“Landry was huge for us tonight,” Brown said. “He was huge on both ends of the floor. We needed a spark from somebody when we were down, and they hit us in the mouth. And Landry gave it to us. It was a big game on the road, and it didn’t faze him. That was a lot of fun to watch.”

With OG Anunoby out with an injury, the Knicks need all the help they can get. They certainly got that from Shamet. Now, they have a chance to finish it off with a sweep and make their 2nd straight trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
