How to watch Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn with weight decision already made

Ryan Garcia will defend his WBC world title against Conor Benn in a blockbuster US vs UK clash.

It will be a huge showdown with big commercial interest from both sides of the pond, with Benn to travel over to the US to challenge Garcia on foreign shores.

Garcia won the title with victory over Mario Barrios in February, and will now make a first defence of the belt.

Benn could pose a significant threat with the hard-hitting Briton out to secure the accolade and made some history of his own that his father Nigel held between 1992 and 1996.

It will be a first world title challenge and ‘The Destroyer’ is also in a positive vein of form having secured a win in his rematch over bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr last year.

But this will be a significant step-up with Garcia carrying lightning fast hands and a wealth of experience at world level.

When and where is it?

The welterweight pair will meet on September 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

It will fall on the weekend that many will celebrate Mexican Independence, which was a target for Garcia given his family heritage.

And, with the fight being co-promoted by Zuffa Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, Dana White, the UFC’s CEO, has moved the company’s Noche event start time to accommodate the boxing.

Where can I watch the fight?

In the UK and Ireland, the event will be broadcast live on DAZN pay-per-view.

The fight available to watch as part of the DAZN Ultimate subscription, which can be purchased for £24.99 a month for UK subscribers.

On US shores, the bout can be watched exclusively live on Paramount+, which will come at no extra cost to the standard subscription.

What has been said?

“I told you in person you aren’t a good enough fighter to beat me,” a confident Garcia told his challenger.

“You forced yourself in this position I will show the lesson of rushing into something you just aren’t ready for.

“This one is for Mexico and the UK. Both want his a** clipped. Clout demon will be slayed.”

Benn, though, called him out for previous fights. “You’ve quit once,” he said. “I’ll make you quit again! Can’t teach heart! See you September 12th.

“[Dad Nigel] won that world title so for me it’s my goal to win that world title.”

He also took aim at Garcia celebrating his ancestry, a country with a celebrated boxing history. Benn is fluent in Spanish, having previously lived in Spain, and used it to bash his rival, who was born in America to Mexican-American parents.

“He claims to be one of them,” he told The Sun, explaining that him speaking the language annoys Garcia because he can’t speak it.

“He ain’t for the culture. He ain’t got the heart of a Mexican. He ain’t got the balls of a Mexican.

“He ain’t got the nitty gritty in him.”

Will Benn continue at this weight?

No. The Brit confirmed this would be his final fight at 147Ibs.

“It’s brutal,” he told Ring magazine. “This is my last fight at 147. When I win the world title, I’ll move on. I haven’t made 147 for four years [since beating Chris van Heerden in 2022], so it’s challenging.

“I went up to 183lbs [after weighing in below 160lbs] for the Eubank fights.”
