Micah Parsons Is On Pace For Big Career Season

The Green Bay Packers shocked the world earlier in the offseason. GM Brian Gutekunst didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger and make a big splash by trading for Micah Parsons.
While the price to pay was high, it’s not common to find a player of Parsons’ caliber in the trade block, much less when he hasn’t even reached his prime. They just had to pull the trigger.
Fast forward to today, and it has proven to be the right move. Parsons has been a beast this season, and he’s on pace to have the best campaign of his career. As pointed out by Titletown Talks on X, Parsons could already make franchise history this season:
“This is Micah Parsons’ 5th straight — 10 sack season. He’s on pace for 15.5 sacks (career high) which would put him at 3rd most in franchise history. (Season),” via TitletownTalks.

If it weren’t for Myles Garrett, Parsons would probably be the odds-on favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year. But even if he doesn’t win the distinction, his impact on the defense goes way beyond what the stat sheet shows.
He’s been a wrecking ball at the line of scrimmage, lining up both on the edge or as an off-ball linebacker, and drawing double teams in almost every single obvious passing down situation. He allows everybody around him to play with more freedom.
The Packers already had a solid defense, and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley proved to be the right guy for the job almost overnight. Now, with a superstar to anchor that unit for years to come, the Packers should be one of those teams no one will want to face in a win-or-go-home situation.
