With potential stars such as Gavin McKenna and Ivar Stenberg available, each team is hoping to land as high a pick as they possibly can. On Tuesday night, it was the Toronto Maple Leafs who walked away happiest of all.
The Maple Leafs have won the 2026 NHL Draft Lottery. They held the fifth-highest odds of winning the first overall pick. As a result, they will kick off the draft when the event rolls around late in June, following the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The San Jose Sharks won the draw for the second overall pick.
