‘Lots of pain’ – Jake Paul can’t eat solid food at Christmas after surgery on double jaw fracture

Jake Paul won’t be enjoying a Turkey dinner on Christmas after undergoing successful surgery on his double jaw fracture.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer admitted he’s in ‘lots of pain’ after being dropped four times in his sixth-round KO loss to Anthony Joshua.

The 28-year-old had his face rearranged by a clean right hand from AJ, which saw him rushed to hospital following the defeat.

And that power punch is not the only thing Paul won’t be eating over the next week after an operation to fix his shattered jaw.

Writing on X, Paul revealed: “Just got out of surgery. Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love.

“Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days.”

He added: “[Shout-out] to the amazing team at Miami University hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring.

“[Neurosurgeon] Arman Jahangiri took amazing care of me with [surgery resident] Lori Valentino.”

Paul had already posted an X-ray scan from the hospital that showed fans the damage Joshua inflicted upon his jaw.

‘The Problem Child’ threw just 56 punches during the six rounds he spent opposite AJ, with only 16 of them landing.

Joshua, on the other hand, threw 146 punches and landed 48 of them, with his final one ruining Paul’s Christmas.

Speaking in the immediate aftermath, he said: “I think my jaw is broken, by the way. It’s definitely broke.

“But that was a nice little a** whopping from one of the best to ever do it.

“I love this s***, but I’m going to come back and get a championship belt at some time.

“I’m feeling good, that was fun. I love this sport.

“I gave it my all. It’s f***ing crazy. I had a blast.

“I got my a** beat, but that’s what this sport is about. I’m going to come back and keep on winning.”

Paul has no plans to retire

The ex-Disney star confirmed he plans to continue getting back into the ring at his original weight despite speculation over his future.

“Yeah, for sure [I want to keep fighting],” he explained. “We’re going to heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight and go for the cruiserweight world title.

“I’m going to take a little break. I’ve been going hard for six years. I’m going to take some time off.”
