After all, becoming the first player in history to win the award twice is exactly the sort of record Mbappé will want next to his name.

That said, the Golden Ball also appeals more than it does for most players. Mbappé was desperately unlucky not to win it in 2022 and another run to the final would put him firmly in the conversation once again. Perhaps a justice vote could even be in the offing.

I think both of those markets offer far more value than backing Mbappé before individual matches. He’ll be odds-on in several matchday markets throughout the tournament. But if you’re going to get involved, I certainly wouldn’t put you off any boosted specials that come along.
