Manchester United odds: Ways to back The Red Devils in the 2026/27 season
After a strong end to last season, Manchester United are looking to kick on again in the 2026/27 campaign. With Michael Carrick at the helm, there is a degree of optimism among the Old Trafford faithful that United could be on their way back as a major force in English and European football.
As the latest Manchester United odds show, Carrick’s team are not among the outright favourites to win the Premier League title this term. Yet there are a variety of Man United odds and many different ways to place outright bets on them for the upcoming season.
Odds on Man Utd to win the league
Heading into the new season, here is the lay of the Premier League land according to the bookies:
- Arsenal – 6/5 with BOYLE Sports
- Man City – 4/1 with bet365
- Liverpool – 6/1 with Betway
- Man Utd – 8/1 with BetMGM
- Chelsea – 9/1 with BetVictor
*Odds correct as of 21st August, and are subject to change.
It was a season of two halves for Manchester United in 2025/26. The first part was miserable, as Ruben Amorim’s tenure came to an end around the turn of the year. United were sixth in the Premier League when Michael Carrick was appointed as the club’s new interim manager. By the end of the season, they had risen to third and Carrick was handed the reins on a full-time basis.
The question now is whether United are capable of taking the next step and making a genuine tilt at the Premier League title. Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all appointed new managers more recently than United, who could benefit from relative continuity despite the fact Carrick has only been in the job since January.
On the other hand, there will be greater demands on the United squad this season. They only played 40 games last term due to being absent from Europe and knocked out of the domestic cups early. United are now back in the Champions League and will almost certainly play upwards of 50 fixtures in 2026/27.
The Manchester United betting odds above look fairly accurate, although many would rank them above Liverpool in the list of contenders. Their recruitment has been better over the last couple of years, and Carrick has shown he can get the best out of the squad at his disposal.
However, United have not yet closed the gap to Arsenal and Manchester City, who remain the likeliest champions in 2026/27.
Plus, BOYLE Sports have launched a brilliant season-long incentive for all players. Simply back your Premier League title pick with a £20 wager before the big kick-off and you will land a £5 free bet every single time they win a top-flight fixture throughout August and September! Whether you are backing Man Utd to go one better or fancying a long shot, it is the perfect way to build your bankroll early on.
How Man Utd can feature in the Premier League title race
These are some of the factors that will determine whether or not this is a successful season for The Red Devils.
Man Utd’s current squad and manager
At the time of writing, Manchester United’s principal focus in the summer transfer market has been a refresh of their midfield. Casemiro has left for MLS upon the expiry of his contract, while United have acquired Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea. Tielemans will provide greater creativity and Santos will add dynamism to the engine room.
A pool of attackers which features Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo, particularly with Bruno Fernandes supplying the ammunition. But there are still question marks over the backline, not least because Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are injury-prone.
We will also have to see how Michael Carrick takes to the role on a permanent basis. Expectations were not particularly high when he initially replaced Amorim, but they have now been ramped up after United’s strong finish to 2025/26. Even after his impressive work last term, Carrick is still comparatively inexperienced at this level.

Casemiro looked to be over the hill a couple of seasons ago, but he bounced back to shine in his final campaign at Old Trafford. Manchester United will miss his leadership and character, but Andrey Santos offers more mobility and Youri Tielemans is a fine tempo-setting passer.
Neither Jadon Sancho nor Tyrell Malacia is a big loss, while Karl Darlow arrives as a back-up goalkeeper. United will still look to bring in at least another couple of new faces before the window closes, with a centre-back, another midfielder and a left-back reportedly on Carrick’s wish list.
Key fixtures in the 2026/27 season
Manchester United face two promoted teams first up, with Michael Carrick’s team widely expected to beat both Hull City and Ipswich Town. A home game against Manchester City is one for the diary on September 13, while the first clash with arch-rivals Liverpool is scheduled for November 21.
United’s last game before Christmas is a tricky trip to the Emirates Stadium to meet Arsenal, who visit Old Trafford on February 27. Manchester City host their neighbours on March 20, but the run-in looks favourable for United, whose final eight fixtures include just one game against a team that finished in the top half of the Premier League last term.
Manchester United odds in other outright markets
If you do not think they have what it takes to win the Premier League title, there are plenty of Man Utd odds available in other outright markets. We have explored some of the options below.
Man Utd trophy multiples
Manchester United have continued to pick up trophies since Alex Ferguson’s departure, even though they have not come close to winning the Premier League or Champions League.
Odds are offered on United winning more than one piece of silverware, although it is worth noting they have not done so once since Ferguson’s retirement. However, United are a decent pick to claim one of the domestic cups.

Top on Christmas Day
Arsenal were top of the Premier League on Christmas Day and went on to win the title, but the hit rate of that particular combination is only marginally over 50 percent: in 34 Premier League seasons, the table-toppers on December 25 have gone on to lift the trophy 18 times.
Manchester United were 13 points adrift of first place over the festive period last year, but a strong start to the season would give them a chance of outperforming the rest of the league across the first 16 gameweeks.

Top Northwest club
Manchester United were the second top-performing northwest club last season, finishing behind Manchester City but ahead of Liverpool and Everton. With City and Liverpool both under new management this term, there is an opportunity for United to be the strongest side in their region in 2026/27.

Top scorer
To the surprise of no one, Erling Haaland is once again the favourite to win the Golden Boot, but Manchester United have four players listed at odds of 66/1 or better: Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha. Marcus Rashford could also enter the conversation if he is not sold before the end of the window.

FAQs about Man Utd ahead of the 2026/27 season
1. Who are likely to become Man Utd’s key players as they aim to fight for the Premier League title?
Bruno Fernandes will be essential to Manchester United’s prospects this season. The Portugal international set a new record for the most assists in a single campaign in 2025/26, and he will be central to United’s attacking efforts once again. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha will be key up front, while there are high hopes for Andrey Santos in midfield.
2. Who are likely to be Man Utd’s main rivals in the Premier League top-four race and other domestic competitions?
The Premier League title will probably be out of reach for Manchester United this season, so the priority will be securing another top-four finish. Arsenal and Manchester City should both qualify for the Champions League, so United will be competing with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur for a place in the top four.
3. When are the best times to lock in the best odds for Man Utd in the markets mentioned in this article?
The odds on Man Utd to win the league and finish in the top four will shift throughout the season in response to on-field and off-field events. It is hard to predict when the best team to bet on United will be.
For instance, if they were to win their first five games, their odds in both of the markets mentioned would fall. A slower start to the season would see a rise in prices and therefore make Carrick’s team better value.
Generally, the best approach is to check the odds regularly throughout the campaign and be prepared to place your bet when you see a good price. But if you are warm on United, it would be wise to place a wager before the season begins as Carrick’s side begin with three winnable matches.
