Knicks superfan Jerry Ferrara sends warning to Spurs fan already thinking about NBA Finals rematch
There is a possibility that the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs face in the 2026 NBA Finals, which would be a rematch of the 1999 series, which was also the last time the former made it there.
In 1999, the Spurs dominated the Knicks, beating them in five games to win the NBA Finals. Some fans expect the same, as one San Antonio fan made clear on X, formerly Twitter, who wrote, “The last time the Knicks made the Finals, the Spurs made the Finals also.”
Knicks superfan and Entourage star Jerry Ferrara was quick to humble the fan, pointing out the biggest difference between the two New York teams.
“Yeah but the Knicks weren’t beating every team by 35 points and 11 in a row. Stay focused on OKC,” the Entourage actor said in response, pointing to New York’s postseason dominance.
Of course, the Spurs need to beat the Thunder before thinking about the Knicks. Plus, they faced and lost to New York in the NBA Cup in December 2025.
The Knicks have run through the East on the way to the NBA Finals

After starting down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in their first playoff series, the Knicks have been on a tear. They have won 11 games in a row, winning most in dominant fashion.
They swept the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the NBA Finals. That gives the team ample rest to come out swinging in the next round.
Things were almost very different for New York. They were down by 22 points with under eight minutes to go in Game 1 against the Cavaliers.
Then, with their backs against the wall, the Knicks came back. They chipped away at the lead, tying it before going to overtime, where they ran away with the game. The Knicks would proceed to win the following three games by double digits.
