Knicks’ OG Anunoby gets ‘special player’ props from teammate after Game 5 win over Hawks
OG Anunoby has always been a menace on defense ever since he entered the NBA in 2017. But over the years, he has also developed his scoring, making him one of the most efficient two-way players in the league.
His versatility was on full display on Tuesday, as he helped the New York Knicks destroy the Atlanta Hawks, 126-97, at Madison Square Garden in Game 5 of their first-round series in the playoffs. The Knicks took the lead in the best-of-seven clash, 3-2.
Anunoby recorded 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting, 10 rebounds, and two steals, while also shadowing Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Jonathan Kuminga.
After the game, Jordan Clarkson could not help but gush about Anunoby, as shown in the video posted by SNY.
“He’s just a force. Defensively, offensively. He’s got a lot more in his bag than I thought, being on the outside. But now, being his teammate, being able to watch him play, I know he does a lot of things offensively that I didn’t notice being on the opposite side,” said Clarkson.
“Him rebounding, him being a force defensively, him knocking down timely shots. He’s a special player.”
"He's just a force. Defensively. Offensively… He's a special player"

Clarkson chipped in nine points in 16 minutes off the bench.
Clarkson and Anunoby had their intense battles in the playoffs when they were still with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors, respectively.
Anunoby may not be as heralded as Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, but many consider him the unsung hero of the Knicks. His quiet consistency is an underrated asset. He goes to work every time his number gets called, even when he has to sacrifice his scoring at times.
Expect him to be locked in for Game 6 on Thursday, as the Knicks will try to advance to the second round.
