Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson epically dunks over Joel Embiid for instant poster

The New York Knicks are in the driver’s seat heading into Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal clash against the Philadelphia 76ers, as they head to Xfinity Mobile Arena with a 2-0 series lead. While OG Anunoby did not suit up on Friday night due to a hamstring injury, Mitchell Robinson returned from his absence in Game 2 just in time to match the return of Joel Embiid — with the Knicks star even getting an incredible highlight play over the former NBA MVP.

With around a little less than eight minutes to go in the second quarter, the Knicks looked to take control of the game after the 76ers went on a first-quarter blitz. They had a 38-35 lead with 7:24 to go and they had to inbound the ball on the baseline with around just two seconds left on the shot clock. The Knicks had Robinson curling to the rim off a Miles McBride screen, setting him up for an epic poster alley-oop jam over Embiid.

What shouldn’t get lost in the shuffle is how Jalen Brunson managed to throw a pinpoint pass to where only Robinson could get the ball. Embiid is not exactly 100 percent healthy right now, and his vertical mobility is far from its best, and the Knicks are doing a good job of testing him on the defensive end of the floor.

The Knicks were down by four to the 76ers at the end of 12 minutes of play, but they managed to turn the game around, and this kind of play like the one they got from Robinson was just one of many plays they made to stabilize and play from the front on the road.

But the Knicks must know that the 76ers will punch back with desperation considering that they’re basically done for should they fail to win Game 3 and fall down 3-0 in the series.
