Knicks’ Mike Brown sends awesome non-basketball message after sweeping 76ers

The New York Knicks are back in the conference finals after sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers in their second-round series in the playoffs on Sunday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The Knicks hardly broke a sweat in Game 4, running away with a 28-point win, 144-114. They are waiting for the winner between the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the other second-round pairing.

New York booted out Philadelphia with an average margin of 22.2 points.

As he should, coach Mike Brown was in a good mood in the postgame conference. He also made sure to send a non-basketball message before he was done.

“I should have said in my pregame press conference, but Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there,” said Brown.

“Mothers are the backbone of most families, if not all families. This is definitely a day that we would like to show appreciation for what they do, and they do a lot.”

Several players of the Knicks have credited their mothers for their success, including Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges. Karl-Anthony Towns, meanwhile, is a self-confessed mama’s boy. Unfortunately, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns passed away in 2020. He has dedicated his career to honoring her.

Many were surprised when the Knicks hired Brown in the offseason to replace Tom Thibodeau, who was responsible for the team’s resurgence. Well, it is safe to say Brown has proven that he can sustain the squad’s success.

Brown has not been afraid to express his displeasure when his players are not up to par, making sure that they are held accountable.

Just like a good mother.
