Knicks’ Josh Hart drops truth bomb on long break between 76ers, Cavs series

The New York Knicks took a long respite period after dismantling the Philadelphia 76ers. Now Josh Hart knows break time is over and a new NBA Playoffs challenger awaits. Hart and the Knicks are aware the Cleveland Cavaliers are coming red hot ahead of Tuesday.

The 31-year-old guard also knows all about the Knicks’ past history during this time of year. New York received heart break at the hands of the rival Indiana Pacers one year ago.

Only this time Hart and the Knicks earned plenty of time to rest their legs and mental state. They’re facing a team that just endured a seven-game series but took down the east’s top seed the Detroit Pistons. Hart got real about the lessons learned from taking a long break.

“Obviously you’d rather not have a 9-day break. You’re in a good rhythm, then you’ve got to sit there and wait,” Hart began with reporters. “Ideally, if it was a three or four-day break, that would’ve been nice. Good points and bad points.”

The near 10-day break presents either rust or well rested energy. Fans inside Madison Square Garden will wonder if the Knicks fire on all cylinders thanks to the rest, or will succumb to the long break against Cleveland.

The Knicks and head coach Mike Brown received one major boost Monday. OG Anunoby became a full practice participant amid his hamstring injury. That indicates he’s on track to suit up in Game 1 versus the red-hot Cavs. Anunoby played in only two games against Philadelphia before the Knicks swept the Sixers.
