Kawhi Leonard punishment is in, so what about Bucks’ Gary Trent Jr. $64 million investigation?
After the NBA handed down its hefty punishment to the LA Clippers for circumventing the salary cap by signing Kawhi Leonard, will the Milwaukee Bucks head down a similar road due to their recent contract with Gary Trent Jr.? The NBA began investigating Trent Jr.’s $64 million extension in July.
And after the league’s ongoing investigation into the Clippers’ involvement in Leonard’s latest deal, the NBA could be going through a similar process with the Bucks, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jim Owczarski.
“For those curious, the NBA is still looking into whether or not the Bucks violated the CBA by signing Gary Trent Jr. to a $64 million deal this offseason,” Owczarski reported.
Trent Jr. agreed to the Bucks’ four-year extension, which received immediate backlash for a player who fell out of the rotation last season.
