Jurgen Klopp tipped for two jobs in management return after Manchester United and Chelsea bombshell
Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist believe Jurgen Klopp could make a return to management, but not at club level.
Instead, the duo tipped the former Liverpool boss to become the next Germany or England men’s national team boss.

Klopp returned to the headlines on Monday when his agent Marc Kosicke revealed he turned down the chance to take over at Manchester United and Chelsea following his departure from Liverpool in 2024.
The 58-year-old enjoyed a staggering nine-year run at Anfield and steered the Reds to eight trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.
However, Klopp has remained away from the dugout since he left Liverpool and became the Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull.
Despite his new role, where he earns an estimated £8-10million, and stating previously he does not ‘miss coaching’, Klopp has been linked to a swathe of vacancies across Europe’s elite.
Even though Klopp may not want to return to the day-to-day grind of coaching a club, Stelling and McCoist believe the German could be lured back to the dugout for international football.
Why Klopp could return with England or Germany
“The only jobs I think would tempt him back into management would be the German national team or the English national team,” Stelling said on talkSPORT Breakfast.
McCoist replied: “I don’t disagree.”
The Rangers legend added: “I think he’d be probably, at this moment of time in his own career and his own life, he’d be most suited to a managerial or head coach’s job with a country.”
Stelling said: “Ultimately Germany would snap his hand off.
“And maybe, depending what happens in the Thomas Tuchel reign, maybe England will as well.”

Despite Stelling and McCoist’s claims, it could be some time before either role is vacant.
Why Klopp couldn’t take over England or Germany right away
Klopp’s countryman Thomas Tuchel manages England and he recently had his contract extended until the end of Euro 2028.
Tuchel’s initial deal ran through to the completion of the 2026 World Cup, where the Three Lions are expected to be serious contenders.
The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain boss is aiming to lead England to its first men’s major trophy since the 1966 World Cup.
As for Germany, that post is occupied by Julian Nagelsmann.
However, like Tuchel, his contract runs through to Euro 2028 having penned an extension in January.

Nagelsmann, who was appointed in September 2023, has led Germany at just one major tournament since he took charge, which was the European Championships in 2024.
The 38-year-old oversaw a run to the quarter-finals at Euro 2024, a tournament Germany hosted, as they were knocked out by eventual winners Spain in a 2-1 extra-time defeat.
Has Klopp previously been approached for the Germany job?
Despite Nagelsmann penning a new deal, a poor showing at this year’s World Cup will only ramp up talk linking Klopp to the role.
The Germany job could have been Klopp’s before Nagelsmann was appointed given he was offered the role following a disappointing 2022/23 campaign with Liverpool and after Hansi Flick had been axed.
“I could have said yes, because it might have been better to do something different,” Klopp told the Welt am Sonntag last June.
“I didn’t want it. And the decision wasn’t about the job as national team coach per se. I couldn’t leave Liverpool like that. There was a team there, there were people I had a relationship with.”
