John Fury explains what he said on call with ‘sarcastic’ Eddie Hall to spark Tommy Fury fight

John Fury held a phone call with Eddie Hall which sparked a fiery agreement for the fight with Tommy Fury.

Fury’s son Tommy will step into the ring with former World’s Strongest Man Hall in a shock boxing clash in June.

The pair bring huge commercial star power to the Misfits Boxing event, which was an unlikely match-up which shocked the social media world.

Hall had explained how a feud with Fury’s father John had initially sparked the clash.

And now the head of the Fury dynasty has explained what he said to the strongman on the phone.

He told Fred Talks Fighting: “You’ve got to give Eddie Hall props, because he isn’t a fighter and he knows what could happen to him.

“Tommy and Eddie get on well, but I can blame myself for ruining that friendship.

“They used to get on well together, but then he started getting sarcastic.

“I’m not afraid of nobody. I said to him ‘don’t insult my son, because if you do I’ll punch you straight into the mouth’.

“And he started saying ‘I can do this and I can do that to him and Tyson’.

“I said you can do f*** all my old pal. When you are talking about world champions, it’s boxing, you can’t do nothing.

“No disrespect to them, what have they got cardio wise? Nothing.”

Fury Sr could well explode on fight week as has become accustomed if Hall trades verbal barbs.

Hall on Fury – I’m ready to cause an upset

For now, Hall has been in training camp for just his second ever boxing fight.

He is eyeing what would be a seismic upset, and has been making changes in camp to try and get over the line.

The giant explained to talkSPORT.com: “It will be a lot different to that fight.

“I went into the Thor fight while throwing nothing but right hands, because I couldn’t throw my left hand.

“So yeah, I’m an orthodox fighter and you won’t see the southpaw stance because my arm is fixed this time.

“I will be a lot more technical, better defence and a lot more aggression.

“It will be a lot more improved all around. I hope Tommy Fury is the first of the Fury’s I can fight if I beat him.
