Joel Embiid sends scary warning to East about next season’s 76ers squad
After the New York Knicks sweep the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid addressed 76ers 2025-26 season’s silver lining, and his team’s bright future. While Embiid is disappointed to see the season come to an end in a first-round sweep, he admitted that reaching the Eastern Conference semifinals wasn’t what he expected at the start of the regular season.
Embiid is looking forward to building off the 76ers’ success next season, he said, per PHLY Sports’ Derek Bodner.
“I’m excited about next season. VJ’s gonna get better and he was amazing for his first season. Tyrese is gonna get better, and he’s gotten better every year,” Embiid said. “PG’s still got it…I’m excited about really getting back to myself.”
Joel Embiid led the 76ers in Game 4 with 24 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting, and 6-for-7 from the free-throw line.
