Jazz guard stretchered off the court after scary Summer League moment
During Monday night’s Summer League action, the Utah Jazz lost guard Trey Alexander to a brutal injury late in the fourth quarter. Alexander, who played nearly 24 minutes off the bench in an 80-63 win for the Jazz, ended up being stretched off the floor after sustaining a serious-looking injury while driving to the basket against Bulls top prospect Caleb Wilson.
Alexander was driving fearlessly towards the rim, but with Wilson trailing him, he knew had to put on a move to avoid getting blocked (the Bulls forward had five blocks on the night). The Jazz guard then leaned towards Wilson and put the body on him, which is a typical way to counter shot-blockers.
However, Alexander ended up hurting himself on the bump against Wilson. He clutched onto his left side as he drifted deep into the baseline, and he needed to be stretched off the court.
Trey Alexander is evacuated on a stretcher in the 4th quarter, after initiating contact with Caleb Wilson, gets the foul called, holds his left side, and rolls in pain outside the court (with replays).

Alexander was writhing on the ground in pain, and it was evident that he had suffered a serious injury to his left side following that hit he sustained from the Bulls forward. It was difficult to watch the Jazz guard grimace for a good minute or two before medical personnel came to his aid.
There were only two minutes and 23 seconds left in the ballgame when Alexander suffered the injury to his side. During his time on the court, he scored two points despite missing all five of his attempts from the field.
Alexander is currently on a two-way contract with the Jazz, which he signed earlier this offseason. He’s been a part of an NBA roster over the past two seasons, spending the 2024-25 season with the Denver Nuggets and last year with the New Orleans Pelicans. In 33 career NBA games, he’s averaging 2.4 points on 41/31/67 shooting splits.
We are all wishing Alexander a speedy recovery from this serious-looking injury.
