Jalen Brunson knows Spurs can take things up a notch in Game 3 at MSG
Jalen Brunson is the undisputed leader of the New York Knicks, but he is not letting a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs cloud his judgment.
Following a grueling 105-104 victory over the Spurs in Game 2 on Friday night, Brunson made it clear that the Knicks cannot afford to get complacent. Despite securing consecutive road wins to open the series, the All-NBA point guard fully expects a massive counterpunch when the action shifts to Madison Square Garden on Monday.
When asked if the young Spurs squad can elevate its intensity even further, Brunson showed ultimate respect for his opponents.
“Knowing them, there’s definitely another level,” Brunson told reporters. “We’ve got to be prepared, and we’ve got to be ready to match it and be ready to play for 48 minutes.”
