Jake Paul makes contract offer to Jon Jones as UFC star demands release in statement

Jake Paul is open to promoting Jon Jones after he urged Dana White to release him from the UFC.

Jones was hoping to be on the historic UFC White House bill in June, and had suggested he had been approached by the promotion over an appearance.

It was expected they would try to match him with Alex Pereira, who recently graduated to heavyweight, but the Brazilian will instead face Cyril Gane.

UFC president White declared that Jones, in his mind, was out of the picture with the UFC and retired from MMA.

But Jones was left furious with the kingpin’s public take and demanded he was released from the roster to explore alternative ventures.

A huge option, if he is to exit from his watertight deal, could be signing for Jake Paul‘s new MMA venture with Most Valuable Promotions.

Paul is already promoting Jones’ long-term rival Francis Ngannou, who will face Philipe Lins on their first bill in May.

And the YouTuber-turned-promoter is open to getting the American legend on board.

He said during a press conference: “Jon, you’re always welcome to come over to MVP.

“We’ll get it popping, and we’ll get you paid what you deserve.”

An attempt from Paul to lure Jones out could well be realistic, given his previous desires to face Francis Ngannou.

The pair have teased a clash for several years inside and outside of the UFC, but it has never come to fruition.

Paul is full of ambition and is looking to disrupt the UFC’s monopoly in MMA, so could well make an approach in the coming days.

Jones – could he really fight again?

Jones has cited problems with his hip in recent weeks, that have plunged his fighting future into doubt.

The American hasn’t fought since defending his title successfully in November 2024 against Stipe Miocic.

But he believes that the long-term injury would not prevent him from competing.

He said on social media: “Yes, I have arthritis in my hip and it’s painful, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight.

“So let me get this straight, if I had accepted the lowball offer, suddenly my hip would be fine and I’d be on the White House card? That doesn’t make sense.

“I even received stem cell treatment last week to get ready for the White House card, and training camp was scheduled to start today.

“I was preparing to be ready. “If the UFC truly feels like I’m done, then I respectfully ask to be released from my contract today.

“No more spins, no more games. Thank you to the real fans who know what’s up.”
