Cesc Fabregas asked about Chelsea job as Como chief gives him green light to take it
Cesc Fabregas has issued a response after Como president Mirwan Suwarso opened the door for him to take over at Chelsea.
The Spaniard is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar following the sacking of Liam Rosenior as head coach earlier this week.

With just four weeks left of the Premier League season, Chelsea bosses are unlikely to rush into a replacement with a successor set to be appointed this summer.
Former Chelsea ace Fabregas has caught the attention of his former club after leading unfancied Como from Serie B to fifth place in Serie A, while also closing in on European qualification.
Fabregas, who saw an approach from Serie A giants Inter immediately rebuffed by Suwarso last summer, has again been linked with a move away from Como with Chelsea expected to be in the mix.
But in a surprising U-turn, Suwarso appears to have opened the door to a possible Stamford Bridge arrival this summer.
Green light
On the subject of a move to Chelsea, the Como president told City AM this week: “If that makes him happy, that’s him.
“You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes.”
However, Fabregas has played down the idea of a return to west London.
Asked about the possibility of succeeding Rosenior, the Spaniard replied: “Nothing to say about that.
“It’d be stupid to think about that now, my focus is on the next game against Genoa.
“I believe I will continue my chapter as Como head coach and focus on the next games.

“I would be crazy to think of anything else rather than these next five games and getting my team into Europe for the first time in history.
“I have not seen or heard any comments that my president said other than he told me he values me very highly.”
Fabregas has deep-rooted ties to Como after finishing his playing days at the club.
He also holds a minority stake in Como and has played a key role in their rise to prominence.
That has seen the club begin to attract a higher calibre of player including Andrea Belotti, Alberto Moreno, Alvaro Morata, and more recently Nico Paz.
Fabregas’ influence is laid bare by his side’s mean defensive stats with Como boasting the second-best record for goals conceded in Serie A this season – conceding just 28 goals in 33 matches.

And despite the interest in him, the 38-year-old reaffirmed his commitment to the Italian minnows just last month.
He said in March: “I am very committed to this project.
“You never know, but right now I think it’s very unlikely I’ll leave Como.
“Last year, I wanted to see how other clubs operated. I mentioned it to the president, but I decided to stay.
“I’m very happy with what we’ve been able to achieve. This is an important project.
“I need to feel good here. It’s important that my family is happy, and if they’re happy in Como, I’ll stay.”
