Is Taylor Swift in Toy Story 5? Why fans think she’s involved

Taylor Swift had fans in a frenzy on Thursday following the possibility of her being involved in the upcoming Toy Story 5.

The popstar had a countdown on her official website — which has since been removed — with a Toy Story-inspired background. The clock counted down to 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET on May 2 but only stayed up on the singer’s website for about 10 minutes.

Fans immediately went to social media to share what they thought the countdown could lead to.

“Honestly, the font and background giving toy story maybe she’s singing a song off the sound track,” one fan wrote.

Another fan believed that she might voice a character in the upcoming film.

“I think she’s voicing knife!,” another fan suggested.

While fans have theorized about her possible involvement in Toy Story 5, nothing has been confirmed by Swift or the studio.

Toy Story 5 will be released on June 19, 2026 and wile it’s still unclear if Swift will be tasked to be on the soundtrack or lend her voice to a character, it wouldn’t be the singer’s first rodeo with working in a film. She got her start with “Crazier” for “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” “Today Was a Fairytale” for the the film “Valentine’s Day” which she starred in with her then-boyfriend Taylor Lautner.

She even made two tracks: “Safe & Sound” and “Eyes Open,” for The Hunger Games. Swift ended up winning a Grammy for best song written for visual media for “Safe & Sound.”

If Swift is involved in this project it would be her first musical release of the year. She dropped her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, back in October. Since it was released after the Grammy deadline it could not be nominated. However, fans are positive that the Grammys will be calling Swift given her success with the track “Fate of Ophelia.”
