IPL 2026: Lucknow Super Giants’ strongest predicted XI against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are in dire need of a win when they take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday, May 07.
The Super Giants are currently on a six-match losing streak, with their most recent defeat coming at the hands of the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. They are currently at the bottom of the standings, with just four points to their name.
LSG’s lineup has some big names when it comes to T20 cricket. However, they have not all clicked at the same time, resulting in their poor performances. Despite their defeat in the previous game, there were some positive signs for Rishabh Pant’s side to take when they take on RCB on Thursday, May 7.
Here is LSG’s strongest predicted XI vs RCB, Match 50, IPL 2026:
Top Order: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (C & WK)
LSG have tried several opening combinations in this season’s IPL but failed to find much success. However, their only silver lining has been Mitchell Marsh. The Australian has scored 256 runs at a strike-rate of 139.13 and is currently his side’s leading run-scorer this season.
Pant’s form, however, will be a cause for concern for the management, with their skipper scoring 204 runs at an average of 25.50 whilst striking at a lowly 128.30.
Middle Order: Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh
One of LSG’s biggest downsides in 2026 has been the disappointing form of Nicholas Pooran. Prior to the game against MI, Pooran had scored just 82 runs all season. However, he showed what he is capable of accomplishing in T20 cricket at Wankhede, where he scored 63 at a strike-rate of 300. Josh Inglis has also returned to the setup, which could once again see LSG field a playing XI with four overseas batters.
Bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav
Amongst all the uncertainties surrounding LSG this season, their bowling has actually done well. Prince Yadav is currently in the running for the Purple Cap, with 13 wickets to his name at an economy rate of 8.06.
Mohsin Khan, meanwhile, has 10 wickets so far, including a five-wicket haul that came against Kolkata Knight Riders. Mohammed Shami has also shown a fine rhythm thus far and the experienced pacer will look to better his record this season.
LSG’s predicted playing XI vs RCB in Match 50, IPL 2026:
Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Aiden Markram, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh, Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav
